Reusing an Assembly

This guide will show you how to reuse an assembly either by copying it from one estimate to another or by coping from a library.

Copying from an earlier estimate #

1. Open the estimate containing the assembly you wish to reuse.

2. File > Open.

3. Split the screen horizontally, by pressing F8, to view both estimates.

4. Copy and paste the assembly from source to the other estimate. (or drag and drop from one to the other)

5. Adjust the assembly Quantity if needed.

NOTE: Once you have completed these steps, your assembly will be ready for use in the new estimate.

NOTE:  Quantities are copied as well – make sure to check the quantities in your new estimate. And if it is an assembly or item you use often, consider adding it to a library.

Copying from a library #

1. Click Libraries ribbon tab, and click on the library you want to copy from.

2. Look in the Work Breakdown Structure of the library to find the assembly you want to copy.

3. Right-click on the assembly and select Copy in the menu.

4. Split the screen horizontally, by pressing F8, to view both estimates.

5. Copy and paste the assembly from the source to the other estimate (or drag and drop from one to the other).

6. Adjust the assembly Quantity if needed.
