the Planswift integration is designed to let you build your estimate in Sigma rather than have to export the takeoff from Planswift, import it into Sigma, and do a lot of sorting to build the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). For instance, if you use a standard CSI WBS, you could review the plans, and build your Div 9 WBS structure for drywall, as an example, by dragging and dropping assemblies from a Sigma library into your estimate.
Sigma’s Planswift integration gives you control over the 4 Planswift takeoff buttons (Area, Linear, Segment and Count) from inside Sigma.
This integration works best with 2 monitors – 1 for Sigma and 1 for Planswift.
1. Open the job in Planswift you want to work on, and then start Sigma and open the Sigma estimate linked to that Planswift job.
2. Adding to the takeoff:
a. Select the page in Planswift that has the items you want to add to a takeoff.
b. In Sigma, click on that component, and click on Edit in Sigma’s Planswift tool bar.
c. Return to Planswift and perform the takeoff. When finished hit escape.
d. Click on the Refresh button and the new amount is added to that component in Sigma.
3. Deleting from the takeoff:
a. Select the page in Planswift that has the items you want to delete from the takeoff.
b. In Planswift, delete any take off.
c. Click on the Refresh button and the new amount for that component is shown in Sigma.
